3 Bottles of Chateau Wine
Chateau Grand Mayne
Region: St Emillion
Vintage: 2000
Wine Spectator 90: “Solid, if a bit on the gutsy side, with plum and blueberry compote notes that have some freshness, while the charcoal- and ganache-lined grip winds up winning out by a hair in the end. About at peak, and for fans of the style — Blind 2000 Bordeaux retrospective (December 2015). Drink now through 2020.”
Chateau Kiran
Region: Margaux
Vintage: 2000
Parker 90: “Still somewhat tannic but very much in the style that Kirwan has favored over recent vintages, this is a full-bodied, muscular, powerhouse effort. The wine still has a dense ruby/purple color, with loads of blackberries, cassis, and some noticeable new oak still lingering in the background. Powerful, rich, and full, this wine needs another 2-3 years of cellaring and should age nicely for another 20 years. (June 2010).”
Chateau Lynch Bages
Region: Pauillac
Vintage: 2001
Wine Spectator 91: “Delightful cedar, bay leaf and savory notes lead off while the core of currant and blackberry fruit has moved into a secondary phase. The bay leaf and cedar elements hold a slight upper hand through the finish, giving this a pleasantly rustic hint. — Blind '01/'03/'05 Bordeaux retrospective (December 2017). Drink now through 2025.”
