Treat yourself and up to 20 friends to an Italian-infused event where you will enjoy a casual afternoon savoring Italian wines, wood fire pizza from pizzaiolo Michael Campell, and Italian music, all while playing Italy’s most popular game – Bocce Ball. You will be welcomed to Villa Campbell, which is reminiscent of an Italian countryside estate yet conveniently located in historic Palo Alto Professorville.
This exclusive experience begins with indulging in Italian wines and antipasto, many of the delectable ingredients grown in the beautifully maintained Italian gardens located on the property. Next, you will learn the subtle art of bocce, a fun game for all ages and levels of expertise – no experience necessary! A friendly round-robin bocce ball tournament on a real oyster shell court will follow as the main attraction although there will be plenty of time for mingling with familia e amici. Traditional Italian desserts will complete the afternoon.

Located in the heart of Sonoma County, the Oliver Ranch is a picturesque 100-acre property home to 18 remarkable site-specific installations by 20 award-winning artists spanning 35 years. Together these artists have transformed the ranch into a unique, one-of-a-kind outdoor museum that is harmonious with the surrounding environment.
Tours of Oliver Ranch are only available to non-profit organizations and there is currently a 2-year waiting period for non-profit groups interested in taking a tour. However, the Pacific Art League (PAL) is honored to offer this exclusive experience at the 2019 Gala to be enjoyed this fall.
The tour covers approximately 2.5 miles with 600 feet of up and down elevation change, requiring approximately 2.5 hours to complete. It can be likened to a light hike in the woods, as the paths are unpaved. Comfortable, non-slip walking shoes are recommended.
Included in this VIP package are: transportation to and from PAL on a private luxury sprinter limo, a professional docent to guide the guests through the property, a light but delicious meal (depending on the time of the tour) and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience this magnificent art installation firsthand.
The Oliver Ranch Fall tour season begins the weekend after Labor Day and concludes in early November (September 7- mid-November 2019). Tours are offered on Fridays at 4pm, and Saturdays and Sundays at 10am. The lucky winner of this event must coordinate with Oliver Ranch to schedule their tour. The transportation to/from PAL to Oliver Ranch will take approximately 2.5 hours each way.
